Chelsey and Fawaz’s wedding was unapologetically authentic - they did exactly what they wanted and there wasn’t a single part of it that felt like something they did for the sake of it, or to follow a tradition they didn’t believe in.
After a joyful ceremony at Islington Town Hall in the council chamber, where their true appreciation for one another could be felt a mile off, the couple and their guests walked together to get the overground to Caledonian Road. The wedding party stopped off at Caledonian Park for a few group photos and couple’s portraits before another wander over to The Depot for their drinks reception and wedding breakfast.
The afternoon was as relaxed as any friendship gathering at the pub and made for brilliant candid content, and their speeches were almost unexpectedly emotional in amongst the abundance of laughter and fun. Chelsey spoke beautifully and eloquently about finding the right person in Faz after always being made to feel ‘too much’ in past relationships, and there were more than a few tears shed as they both delivered honest, heartfelt words.
After the speeches they had the Arabic Henna ceremony which Faz’s mum had prepared for them. It was a really special moment to photograph and was the perfect precursor to their first dance. Their evening entertainment saw several drag and cabaret acts utterly delight the crowd with their talents and I can thoroughly recommend choosing to have performances at your wedding - the atmosphere was incredible.
