Summer garden wedding in Suffolk

Back in the balmy warmth of August 2024 (remember that?! Hard to picture it right now in chilly February!) Anna and Yusef got married in Anna’s parents’ garden. They had a beautiful, personal ceremony performed by independent celebrant Sheila Greatrex of Spotlight Ceremonies after Anna and her bridesmaids and mum got ready at Asteria Wellbeing. The whole day felt very easy-going and natural with Anna’s mum’s stunning garden providing the backdrop and music from Sambhina Jazz Band during the reception.

Their wedding day was planned fabulously by Tori of Event Curation and honestly it’s a real pleasure to shoot a wedding that has been expertly organised, and for everything to be kept running beautifully on the day so that I (or the couple!) don’t have to worry about it. It’s especially important with a DIY home wedding where absolutely every detail has to be considered.

Their marquee provided the perfect setting for their speeches and wedding breakfast, which was hired from Events Under Canvas, with food by Vernon Blackmore and florals to dress the tables from Five Rod Farm.

It was one of the more emotional days I’ve shot and you can really see that in the ceremony and during the speeches - there was clearly a lot of love for both Anna and Yusef that day, and I loved hearing their story of how they’d got together as well as all their travels. They’d had a really difficult time with visas over the years and they were both so relieved to be able to finally make it official.
